Failure is the pillar of success story : Once there lived a good King in Scotland. His name was Robert Bruce. He loved his country and his subjects very dearly. His subjects had a great love and respect for him. One day his enemies attacked his country and drove him away from his kingdom. He fled away and took shelter in a cave. He made attempts consecutively for six times to recapture his throne.

But all his attempts ended in smoke. It was the seventh attempt of Robert Bruce but he was defeated even at his seventh attempt. After his defeat for the seven times, while he was lying in the cave, he saw a spider making attempts repeatedly to climb upon the roof of the cave. It made attempts for seven times but failed.

At last, when it made number eight attempt, it came out successful. This scene inspired Robert Bruce to make another attempt to regain his throne and recapture his country with a view to ensuring freedom of the country. Being inspired by the success of the spider, he again collected soldiers and attacked the enemies.At last he came out successful. Thus he experienced that failure is the pillar of success.

One day his enemies attacked his country and drove him away from his kingdom. He took shelter in a remote cave. The king was always in a pensive mood for his unhappy condition. Being a king, he was used to kingly amenities in his palace. There was not the least hope of that luxurious life at his present residence.

But that did not cause him much mental suffering. His worst agonies were the facts of being driven out of his beloved kingdom and the suffering of his people by his enemies. In fact, his deep concern for his country and countrymen made him mentally crippled. Defeat after defeat turned him so disheartened that he had not the least hope of regaining his kingdom. In such a mental state, once he was lying in the cave.

Suddenly he saw a spider trying hard to reach the ceiling of the cave. The spider failed again and again to attain success. But it did not lose heart Bruce saw the spider climbing to the, ceiling after many unsuccessful attempts. This dauntless spider inspired Robert Bruce to foil despair. He gathered an army of strong men and attacked his enemies with new vigour.

The enemies courted defeat and Robert Bruce regained his kingdom. The spider taught Robert Bruce that a relentless worker is always crowned with success. We also learn from this example a great lesson that “Where there is a will, there is a way.”

There was a good king in Scotland named Robert Bruce. He loved his country and subjects Very dearly. His subjects had great love and respect for him too. Once, his enemies fought against him and drove him away from his kingdom. The king with his many faithful soldiers and subjects went to a forest and took shelter in an old fort.

The king did not sit idle there. He formed a troop and attacked his enemies again and again. He attacked his enemies about seventeen times. But all the times he was defeated. Being defeated so many times, he became hopeless and decided not to fight. One day, the king was lying in the fort in a gloomy mood. Suddenly, a spider attracted his eyes. It was trying to climb the roof. But it fell down. Yet it did not give up its attempt and on the eighteenth attempt it succeeded.

The king took a lesson from the spider that perseverance is the key to success. He made up his mind and he attacked his enemies Once again. This time he defeated his enemies and got back his lost kingdom.
