My first day at school story: When I was five my father took me to a school quite far away from our home. There I followed my father to a room where I saw a big bald-headed man. He looked pleased to see my father but I got frightened when he told me to go near him. My heart began to beat fast. But he treated me with great affection. He was, in fact, the Headmaster of the school. At first he asked my name. Then he asked me some other easy questions especially regarding my family. I could answer all of them. Then he allowed my admission. I was taken to the class room just at 10:00 a.m.
Our class teacher was Mr. Khalilur Rahman. He spoke in a very polite manner and treated us as his friends. The first period lasted 35 minutes. I had four other periods that day with a break of 30 minutes. At the break, all of my classmates started playing in the field. I felt very lonely and was moving here and there. Soon, my friends invited me to join them. I was hesitating at first. But their warmth dispelled all my hesitations. I felt myself like a free bird flying in the open air. I left the school at 2.30 p.m. From then on, I have been attending educational institutions regularly. But the memory of that particular day will remain every fresh in my mind.
