Birds of the Same Feather Flock Together story: There lived a saint in a forest. He was very kind. Once a mouse ran to him and took shelter in his lap. The mouse was trembling with fear because a cat attacked it. The saint felt pity for the poor mouse. So he turned the mouse into a beautiful girl. Thus the mouse was saved. Now, the saint took up the responsibility of looking after the girl. Many years passed by. The girl grew very attractive. She reached the age of getting married. Then the saint asked her about her choice. The girl said, “I like to marry one who is the mightiest in the world.” The saint proposed her to marry the sun. But she said,” No, my lord, the sun is sometimes covered by clouds. So, cloud is mightier than the sun.” “Then marry the cloud,” suggested the saint. “My Lord, mountains are mightier than the cloud,” replied the girl. “So, you should marry the highest mountain in the world,” the saint retorted. “Excuse me my Lord, but mice are mightier than the mountains. Because they make holes in the mountain,” the girl replied shyly. Now, the great saint understood everything. He bowed down his head before the way of the world. Then he turned the beautiful girl into her original form. The beautiful girl received the appearance of a mouse. The saint said, “Now you-can marry the mightiest person in the world. Go and marry a mouse.”
